About
John Manders BSc (Hons) MCSP HCPC
Senior Chartered Physiotherapist
PhysioFitness is the private physiotherapy practice of John Manders who has been providing physiotherapy services for more than 20 years in and around the Maidenhead area. He formed the company to bridge the gap between injury and getting back into normal everyday life, whether that be just to be able to walk the dog or complete high level fitness activities. Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, he had extensive experience as a Fitness Instructor for a large Private Health Club in Maidenhead. He therefore uses this knowledge to ensure all aspects are covered in the recovery from injury back to full fitness (Hence the name PhysioFitness).
John began his adult life completing two degrees, the first in Sports Science at Kingston University and the second in Physiotherapy and Brunel University. During his Physiotherapy degree he completed numerous hospital placements in many of the large London teaching hospitals and one at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre – Headley Court (National rehabilitation unit for the Military).
After qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist, John worked in the NHS covering the areas of Respiratory, Orthopaedic, Musculoskeletal and Neurological Physiotherapy. He then became a Senior Physiotherapist specialising in the field of Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy. Following this he moved to The Police Rehabilitation Centre as a Senior Physiotherapist in a very busy department, treating Police officers who present with a range of conditions including low back pain and neck pain, day to day aches and pains, sports injuries and complex multi-trauma. After 13 years at the Police Rehabilitation Centre he decided to focus entirely on his private practice - PhysioFitness Maidenhead.
John has worked with a wide variety of society including people who just want to live with less pain, the weekly gym goer, many level of sports activity up to elite level sports (Golf, Gymnastics, Running, Swimming, Cycling, Rowing, Cricket and MMA), Celebrities, VIP’s, and special forces military personnel. So, whatever your personal circumstance, John is entirely confident he will be able to help you out.
